The Eterna Wildlife Encyclopedia will provide an in-depth look at the fauna, flora, and geology of the planets conceived for the Eterna series. It is an active collaboration between fellow writer/illustrator Tomasz Pioszyk and I.
Here are a few of my contributions to the project:
M'muos speak with their mouths but eat or rather, drink through their chin-tubes. They use their chin-tubes to drill holes in Eroluna branches, then hang stone bowls under them to collect the slow-flowing sap.
Axemaws are related to dragon vipers, but have lost the ability to fly. What used to be wings are now flaps of skin that shield their ears from the cold.
Hatchet heads jump off the ice cliffs of southern Talakun into the Oda-Kai Sea. Hatchet heads use the hooks on their claws to climb up the frozen walls of the Ky-Mola Glacier once a year in order to lay their eggs on dry land.
